Food Update | Changes being made

I honestly came by this by coincidence. Since i have a Samsung phone and they like to give people gifts and such so i was looking through the gifts and came across 6 months free subscription to Lifesum which i think is alot like myfitnesspal. So i thought hey why not it's free for half a year might as well make the most of it.

While looking through the different diets on there i saw the 5:2 one. It still sounds crazy to me but I'm going to give it ago for about a month then reevaluate and see if it's working out for me.

A little info about the 5:2 diet: It's basically, from what I've read, a diet where you eat normally for 5 days then for the 2 fasting days you reduce your calorie intake to 500 for women and i think it's 600 for men. If your working out during your fast days then your calorie intake will be adjusted accordingly. Well that's what the app did for me. So since i walked and worked out instead of 500 cals for the day i got to have 987 and had 42cals left over by the time i went to bed. I think i only managed it because i slept through breakfast. There aren't any carb or fat restrictions aka it's not one that says you have to cut out pasta or bread or you can't eat nuts or have any butter but it does sort of make it harder to eat junk on fast days if you don't want to be starving that is. Surprisingly there are ALOT of recipes under 200 cals that are full of fruit or veg to keep you filled through the day so it's not a struggle to stick to the reduced calories.

I know for a fact this is going to be hard though since i love snacking on things that are that good for you. So those fasting days are going to kick my butt. I put into the settings that i want to have my fast days on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Which means i had my very first fast day on the 10th. Since this is full disclosure, i already fell *i know, shame on me but i have no guilt over it since i know it'll take me a while to break my snacking habit*. I'm proud that i didn't use it as an excuse to fall completely and quit or say I'm going to start the week after like i do when it comes to working out *lol baby steps here*.

I'm also using the same app to keep up with my water intake and my fitbit steps which i synced up with the app. Fingers crossed everything goes amazing well.
